Generating a summary of the functional capacity assessment

You can pick key strengths of the pupil’s functional capacity, support needs or respondents’ conflicting views from different views for the summary. Move the cursor to the appropriate location and click on a question to add it to the summary. The summary can be used as a basis for a guidance discussion, and it can also be supplemented with observations that emerge in the discussion.

NB: Any text and comments you add to empty fields in the summary will not be saved. You can only view them in the downloaded pdf file. The text field complements the functional capacity description, and you can also use it for notes on planning support and assessing the progress the pupil makes in achieving their goals. The open text field is an important source of additional information in the functional capacity description.

Strengths

Pick the pupil’s key strengths from different sub-areas. To change the order of rows in the table, click on the Change order of questions/strengths button. You can then drag and drop the row to the selected location. You can also delete a selected row. Once you have arranged your rows, save the updated table by clicking on the button again.

Free text fields are provided in the Strengths, Support needs and Conflicts views: you can generate a summary of the section in question or highlight the issues that you wish to emphasis specially. This will make it easier to go through the summary in the discussion.

Support needs

Pick the pupil's key support needs from the different sub-areas. To change the order of rows in the table, click on the Change order of questions/support needs button. You can then drag and drop the row to the selected location. You can also delete a selected row. Once you have arranged your rows, save the updated table by clicking on the button again.

Conflicts

Pick respondents’ differing views from the different sub-areas. To change the order of rows in the table, click on the Change order of questions/conflicts button. You can then drag and drop the row to the selected location. You can also delete a selected row. Once you have arranged your rows, save the updated table by clicking on the button again.

Issues emerging in the discussion

In the discussion you can agree on common goals and plan the pupil’s learning path. Make notes of a few issues which emerge in the discussion and which are important in terms of supporting the pupil’s learning and school attendance.

Make a note of the persons who participated in the discussion as well as its time and place.
